nature series begins with Taking Flight: Painting Birds. Amoungst our many feathered

friends here at Full Circle Retreat, you will create paintings that celebrate the birds

that sing to you. Focusing on the visual elements of color, movement and expression

you will learn to paint the essence of a birdís character and explore their personal

symbolism in your life. Come for the weekend and if you like extend your painting

adventure and stay for Painting Nature: Atmosphere and Light the following week. Open to all, beginners welcome.

Painting Nature: Atmosphere and Light

September 13-14, 2013 Friday and Saturday

Molly Cranch

Come explore a method of painting that blurs the line between abstraction and

realism as we observe the atmospheric aspects of nature. With attention to the visual

elements of color, light and pattern, you will create paintings that reflect your

personal experience of nature. Allow the many life forms that inhabit this beautiful

river valley to inspire your painting. Morning meditation, nature walks and group

conversation will be part of this retreat. Open to all, beginners welcome. Join us

for these three invigorating days or all five. Let nature restore and enliven you.

Molly Cranch, BFA

My work is essentially a meditation on nature. As a deeply entrenched city dweller, I relish

the sight of sunlit branches or birds overhead and truly appreciate the healing power of nature.

Nature is an enduring theme in my paintings with subject matter ranging from the birds I began

painting over ten years ago, to complex botanical forms, and atmospheric landscapes.

I received a BFA in painting from Washington University in St Louis and a certificate in art

education from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I teach art to a wide range of

people of all ages. My paintings are exhibited locally, nationally and internationally. I currently live in Chicago and

enjoy sharing life with my husband, two young sons and two teenaged stepsons.
